Thank You LJS Auntie

Wow, it's been more than a month since my last entry.

This entry is dedicated to the nice elderly auntie at Long John Silver's over at Simei.

She was like any other aunties who work in fastfood joints even though she was of age to enjoy her golden years and retirement. However, I guess not everyone has the luxury of doing that in Singapore. Anyway, like other aunties, her job was to clear trays and clean up tables in the restaurant and didn't attract too much of my attention at first. The 'fast food' restaurant made me wait for 10mins for my order of 2 pieces fish and fries with the request of extra crumbs. Realizing that I was seated there without food for a long time, the nice auntie apporached me to ask me what I ordered.

On her way to the kitchen to check the status of my food, the counter girl who took my order finally came with my tray of fishes and fries, but no extra crumbs. The auntie then gently reminded her that I wanted extra crumbs. Ignoring what the auntie said, the counter girl served me the plate and apologised that there were limited crumbs left in the kitchen. I then thought to myself that it was impossible for them to not have enough crumbs since they were serving me fish that were just out from the fryer. Not wanting to make my day worst, I decided not to pursue my crumbs and started digging into my food.

After a while, the auntie came to me with a paper wrapper, the kind that they use to hold the fries. Inside it was a full packet of crumbs! That really made my day.

I started to enjoy my lunch and as I was doing so, I observed that the auntie approached another man and then went into the kitchen to check his order.

This auntie was really nice and showed professionalism in what she was doing. What she provided was definitely first class service. If the GEMS campaign was still going on, I would pick up a card and give it to her. So in the end, I went up to her to thank her again. She really made a difference to my day
