Chinese New Year

We're approaching the end of Chinese New Year now.

I decided that my sister and I are too old for Chinese New Year and so I bought my family members tickets to Genting so that we can miss the first day of CNY and make it back in time to visit my grandma on the second day of new year.

The idea is for us to miss CNy altogether but in the end, I still maanged to get quite a sum of red packets. In fact, slightly more than last year. Well, one good thing about this year is that my uncle invited my parents over to his place. This was a pleasant surprise as they haven't spoken in years!

There was a big quarrel in my family and this uncle of mine hasn't spoken or contacted us, and my 2nd auntie, ever since the death of my grandfather. I visited him once after my grandfather died and that was it. A few months ago, my cousin, his son, got into a very serious accident and was hospitalized. We got news of it from my 1st auntie and we went to visit him. That really broke the ice that was built up over the years. I was really glad, we're family after all.
