Host

Last night I went to watch Host. Its a Korean movie and from the trailers, one would think that its a horror movie, about a monster that invaded the city or something.

To my real horror, it was a comedy! Of course when a monster is involved, some thrilling and disgusting scenes are unavoidable. However, I spent most of the time laughing.

Anyway, the movies is about a girl who was taken by this monster and 4 adults trying to look for her and rescue her from the monster's lair after finding out that she is still alive. These 4 adults were really funny and hence the comedy. In the end, the girl died. If you ask me, the story is just weird and doesn't have a really typical storyline which, actually makes it quite interesting.

On the whole, it was quite an enjoyable evening. Topped with LF showing me his webcam tricks that had me laughing for quite some time.

The Forbidden City - Portrait of an Empress

Thursday, September 14, 2006

Woohoo! I went to watch the forbidden city yesterday afternoon!

Mayflower made it available to some of their students and their staffs to go to watch the forbidden city. Tommy and Chris Deng couldn't go, so they let me have their tickets. No lah, of course I only took one seat lah.

The tickets were for the matinee show and thus were only $58. However, I only paid $20 because it was subsidised by Mayflower! And to my surprise, they were darn good seats too! On the flip side, not all the main actors were on the matinee show, just the understudies, so we didn't get to see Kit Chan and the lady playing her role kept having difficulties hitting that 1 note! We got to see the ever funny Hossanne Leong though.

It was also funny to watch with a theatre that was at least 70% filled with students. You get people whistling when the emperor was having sex and a roar of thunderous cheer when one of the characters scolded the man who cheated her, "You bastard!"

On the whole, it was a totally enjoyable experience. The music, the scrpit and the stage setting were great. 4 and a half out of 5 stars!

Update

Monday, September 11, 2006

Wow, its been 2 weeks now since I've started working part-time. It great to have more time to myself and for my studies, but I can imagine that the pay is really gonna suck when i receive it for the next month.

But I'm not regretting it, at least not yet. I'm really enjoying my studies for this term. Its not as pressurizing as when I did my degree. Maybe because now I'm working part-time and not full time. One thing is for sure, I don't feel as blur as when I was doing my degree. What's more, my classmates are really nice people and my lecturer is very nice too.

I would need an adolescence with a real problem to be my subject for my next assignment. I would need record myself interviewing and administering some tests to this person on video. Don't worry, the video is only supposed to show the persons backview up to the neck area. So, any takers?

New Computer

Monday, September 04, 2006

Woohoo! I'm writing this on my new Acer Aspire! Haha!

I've got a free computer for extending my contract with Singnet. Its really quite cool now, took out some parts from my old computer and put them into the new one. So its really got great stuffs now.

Plus, I really love my new LCD screen, so much space now. I even have place to put all my Feng Yun figurines on the monitor and they're more prominent than where they used to be.

Well, time for me to go download and update some of the programmes now.
