The Cat Is Back

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

Mimi is back and sleeping on my slippers again! For thos of you who don't know what I'm talking about, click the link to read this post >>> Biofeedback's Feedback: Where Is The Cat?

I saw her sleeping in my neighbour's shoe rack on Monday. On Tuesday, she came back to the corridor in front of my house, dragged my slipper to her favourite spot and slept there and drooled on it. When I went back to take a peek, I saw her sharpening her claws on my slipper. I saw her again today and she was half awake and was meowing at me :)

My mum said that maybe she had a fight with her husband and is now back at her 娘家 (maiden home).

Beautiful Wife

Thursday, June 21, 2007

My right hand is 98% healed now as it was a less serious one. The injury on my knee is alright too. Not painful anymore, just waiting for the hard skin to shed off. I managed to give a slight tear to my right hand on tues while playing with my student, so looks like it'll take another week to heal up.

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to say. On Tues, I saw one church Uncle after the media influence workshop over at THQ and so I went over to say hello. Out of the sudden, he said he knew why I was still single. He quoted the Bible saying that in one of his letters, Paul mentioned that getting attached would mean a hindrance to God's work. Therefore, the reason to why I do not have a girlfriend yet is because God has more things for me to do. The Uncle then went on and said this "If you hold on, God will give you a beautiful wife, just like me."I then replied: "Eeee, I then don't want! I don't mind a beautiful wife like yours, but one like you? I'm gonna ask God not to give."

P.S. yeah, this is my 50th post!

Mawai Eco Camp

Saturday, June 16, 2007

4 PDP schools went to Mawai Eco Camp over the last 3 days. The whole trip included climbing Gunung Arong, a water obstacle course, an an educational swamp walk.

I'm very proud of my Springfield boys; not only were they cooperative throughout the camp, there was almost no complain from any of them. The swamp walk was especially testing for a lot of the students. A lot of them were causing commotions because of leeches or becuase they got stuck, almost knee deep, in the mud.
But my boys were really having fun going around support those who were crossing mud patches by standing in the middle and sinking in slightly more with the weight of each person they supported, moving around with the salt that they have so that they can pull out the leeches of those who are paralyzed by the leeches sucking on them so much so that they can only scream but couldn't pull or flick the leeches off.
They were great bacause they were not just all talk and no action, and neither are they the kind who wishes other people's fate to worse as bad, or worse than theirs.

Bernie always said that how we play games is a reflection of life. I think thats true. And through this trip, I have fully experienced the meaning of the phrase: "empty vessels make the most noise"

Painful Shower

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

I had one of the most painful shower just now because of what happened to my hands and knee.
I was playing Tchoukball and had to go after one stray ball that I threw. Then I stepped into a small pot hole in the grass patch and I fell forward. I remembered comtemplating if I should break fall or roll over. I chose to break fall, obviuosly the wrnog choice. Therefore, resulting serious abrasion against the tar jogging track.

Camp Pics Are Out

Tuesday, June 05, 2007

Phew, after a few hours going through and resizing of the photos, they are finally out!

Please understand that I can't put all the pics up. This is because some of them are a bit blur and that there are just too many pics (few hundreds in total). So I've decided to just put up some pics that are interesting and would remind us of the events of the camp.

I will get Capt Hary to send a copy of DVD with all the pictures that were taken with my camera to your corps and centers.

Meanwhile, click here for the pics

Youth Camp 2007

Monday, June 04, 2007

After weeks and weeks of meetings and preparation, the youth camp finally came to pass. I must say that it was great making new friends and meeting up old ones. And I can see that a "new" time has come, and how God has been preparing for it. Its wonderful to see how some of the youths have grown over the last few years, going through boot camp training and all, God moulding them into the leaders that they are today.
Very soon I'll have to pass the baton on as I'm not so young anymore :)
Here are some pics, I'll announce again once I've got everything onto my fotopic gallery.
